For some reason I really wanted some ham and so I bought a ham steak. It was very easy to cook with and this pineapple sauce was very good, it reminded me a lot of sweet and sour pork but in ham steak form.
Ingredients:
1 can of pineapple rings
1/2 cup pineapple juice reserved from canned pineapple
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp Dijon
Cooking spray
1 ham steak
Directions:
1. Combine and whisk together the pineapple juice, honey, brown sugar, and Dijon in a small saucepan. Cook until bubbling then simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
2. Spray a grill pan with cooking spray. Create a layer of pineapple rings on the grill pan and place the ham steak on top of the pineapple rings. Cook for about 5 minutes until grill marks and caramelization form on the underside of the pineapple rings, then flip over. Pour sauce over ham steak and cook for another 5 minutes. Serve warm, enjoy!
