Basil Pesto

Nick and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary over the weekend and to celebrate we decided to make one of our fave meals. Making this meal is a little nostalgic for us since we made this for the first time together over 7 years ago and we have made it numerous times together since, it is both of our faves and nothing really beats homemade pesto.  

3 cups packed fresh basil leaves
4 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup pine nuts
2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1. Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or  blender until well blended. Blend to a smooth paste. Feel free to add extra basil, garlic, or Parmesan depending on what tastes you prefer.
2. Pour sauce into a sauce pan. Heat on medium heat until heated throughout. Serve atop noodles of your choice, enjoy!
